Top Dressing

Top dressing consists of adding a fresh layer of organic matter, top soil or black earth to an existing lawn. The purpose of that is to add new nutrients to the lawn, and to establish a good soil bed for new seeds to grow on. You will usually add a good amount 1-2" of soil in areas where you need to re-patch the lawn. In areas where the grass is already present, but the lawn could use new nutrients, and become thicker, then you will add no more than 1/2" thick of soil.

It is recommanded to Dethatch your lawn, and to perform a Core Aeration service prior to start the Top Dressing service. Overseeding your lawn after is very important.

This service is only beneficial in the spring and fall time of the year.
